Carlsbad Police Offer Classes for Parents with Challenging Teens
Classes will be 10 consecutive Tuesday nights from 6 to 9 p.m., starting March 19.
The City of Carlsbad Police Department will be offering a series of
classes for parents struggling with teens called “The Parent Project.”
The Parent Project is an award winning, activity-based parenting course that helps parents through their teen’s challenging adolescent years.
“The teenage years can be uniquely challenging,” stated Penny Velazquez, program administrator and instructor. “The Parent Project provides necessary support for parents of strong-willed and out-of-control teens.”
Parent Project graduates have commented, “Thank you for bringing me back to my son;” “Life is improving daily;” and “This class covers it all.”
Classes will be 10 consecutive Tuesday nights from 6 to 9 p.m., starting March 19. The classes will be held at the City of Carlsbad Senior Center located at 799 Pine Avenue. The classes are open to all parents, not just City of Carlsbad residents.
The fee for class materials is $30 per individual or $40 per couple. There is no cost for active duty military families.
