My family and I attended the Commissioning of the USS Coronado yesterday, as guests of Commander Kim, an Officer and a gentleman.
May you have fair winds in defending our freedom and deterring aggression. Bless the watch standers.
What a special day! I'm told that a commissioning is an event that even old sailors are lucky to ever witness first-hand.
Specs: LCS (class), high speed (40+knots), shallow draft, trimaran with largest flight deck in the fleet.
We followed this event with a traditional Mexican meal at the wonderful local favorite, El Indio.
